For all of us concerned about how the global crisis was going to hit online gambling, some positive news from PartyGaming are bringing some relief.
PartyGaming is the company behind PartyCasino PartyPoker and some other well known online gambling sites. Recently has released its results for the last 4 months of 2009 and some encouragingly positive numbers are shown.
Like every other online gambling site in the world, PartyGaming has been hit quite hard by the 2006 ban on players from the United States, but last year, the company showed growth of 32% in comparison to previous year and an awesome 17% only on the previous quarter.
On third quarter they had 3% more players joining a PartyGaming site, and an increase in “active players days” (meaning the number of days that a player plays games) by 8% in those 4 months.
All the online casino industry is very excited with these figures since they provide evidence that the demand for online gambling and entertainment seems to be willing to grow. Of course PartyGaming is in a dominant position, but all the online gambling industry is greeting these figures with enthusiasm.
Jim Ryan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said: ‘We enjoyed a strong fourth quarter with a return to growth in all four product verticals but with a particularly strong performance in casino and sports betting. Having recaptured the number one spot in the world in terms of poker liquidity and with our integration of Cashcade and the World Poker Tour (‘WPT&rsquo
well on track, our performance in the first four weeks of 2010 has been in-line with the Board’s expectations and we remain confident about our prospects for the full year.”
And finished ““With the introduction of ring game poker, casino and bingo anticipated in Italy in the first half of 2010, the opening of the French market later this year and Denmark in 2011, we believe the outlook remains positive. Whilst the regulatory picture in some countries remains uncertain, the momentum towards creating commercially viable and regulated markets is strong. With some of the world’s largest gaming sites in poker, casino and bingo, and opportunities to further consolidate the online gaming sector, we are confident about our future prospects.”
So we can expect this to keep growing and that is a good thing!
Good Luck,
