Sic – Bo
Sic Bo is also known as tai-sai, dai siu, big and small or ji-lo. This game comes from ancient China. The literal meaning of sic bo is dice pair. Curious thing since this game is played with three dice.

Besides the use of dice, Sic bo shares with craps the excitement and it is easy to play as well. Payout ranges go from even money up to 150:1.
There are lots of betting options available formed by the combinations of the three dice. All of these together with the payouts are displayed on the table layout. Once the dice are shaken by the dealer with a vibrating platform under a glass cover, the three dice appear on the display and the corresponding spaces ligth up on the table. All losing bets are removed just like in roulette and all the winning bets are payed by the dealer.

There are 8 kind of bets.

1. Three of a kind: You are betting on the same number appearing on all three dice. The chance that this happens is 1 in 216, and the payout is (150:1).
2. Two of a kind: You are betting on one number appearing in two of the three dice thrown. There are 12 ways of making a winning combination, it pays 8:1 and you have 5,82% chances of winning.
3. Any three of a kind: As stated by it´s name, this bet is a wager on any number appearing on all three dice. you are 6 times more likely to hit this one than the standard three of a kind but odds are still low (1:36)
4. Small: Here you bet on the sum of the three dice. You can bet the dice will show a total of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 excluding three of a kinds. So, a total of 3 is not a winning bet and neither is the three of a kind with 2s or 3s (9). This pays even money and the house gets his edge from these non winning bets.
5. Big: Is like the small bet but this time you bet the total will be 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 excluding three of a kinds. So 18 (3 sixes), hard 12 (3 fours) and hard 15 (3 fives) are not winning bets and are the ones that provides the house their edge.
6. Sum of the three dice: In the area with the numbers 4 to 17 you place a bet and if you hit, the payout is as follows:

                    •    When the dice show a total of 4, the payout is 50 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 5, the payout is 30 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 6, the payout is 18 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 7, the payout is 12 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 8, the payout is 8 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 9, the payout is 6 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 10, the payout is 6 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 11, the payout is 6 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 12, the payout is 6 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 13, the payout is 8 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 14, the payout is 12 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 15, the payout is 18 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 16, the payout is 30 to 1;
                    •    When the dice show a total of 17, the payout is 50 to 1;

     7. Duo: You bet on two numbers appearing on at least 2 of the 3 dice. You can bet on any two dice combination as long as you choose two different numbers (or it will be a two of a kind bet). Payout here is 5 to 1.

 
     8. One of a kind: You bet on in number showing uo in at least one die. Payout depends on how many times your number appears
                    •    If your choosen number is shown one time, payout is  even money;
                    •    If your choosen number is shown two times, payout is  2 to 1;
                    •    If your choosen number is shown three times, payout is  3 to 1.

If you go for the small bet, half of all dice combinations is giving you a winning one, excluding the three of a kind combinations. To calculate your winning chances, we are taking out 3 possibilities out of 108 (the three 1s, the three 2s and the three 3s) which leaves you with 105 chances of winning out of 216, or in other words: 48,61%. If we compare this to roulette (single zero), our chances to win on even bets are 48,64% (47,37% in double zero wheel). So you see Sic bo even bets are very similar to even bets in single zero roulettes, therefore, any betting patern you can use in roulette will perform very similar perform in sic bo games.
